All Forest River Tent Camper roofs are built with internal A/C support bars. The following list is to be used as a guide to determine where the A/C should be installed on a particular roof:
- If the roof has no roof vent on the inside ceiling of the roof, you will find a white headed screw. The screw is located within the wood framed 14'' x 14'' area, where the A/C will need to be installed.
- If the roof has a standard hand crank-up roof vent where the vent is currently located is where the A/C will need to be installed. Caution must be taken when removing the existing vent as to not rip the outer skin of the roof. The best way to remove the existing vent is to remove the inside garnish, then with a heated putty knife from the inside, slide the knife between the top roof material and the bottom of the roof vent, melting the sealant as you go.
- If the roof has a Fantastic Power Roof Vent You will need to find a white headed screw on the inside ceiling which is located within the 14'' x 14'' wood framed area where the AIC is to be installed.
HOW TO CUT HOLE IN ROOF WITH SCREW MARKED LOCATION
Remove location marker screw from ceiling, drill hole through roof where marker screw was. Using a 4'' CD with center pilot router bit, route out the 14'' x 14'' wood framed opening in the roof. The roof will then be ready for the A/C to be installed.
(SPECIAL NOTE: The screw is within the 14'' x 14'' area, not necessarily in the center of the 14'' x 14'' area.
Any questions, call (574) 642-2640 extension 105 before you cut.
